Bach in Sanssouci
It is a summit meeting in music history when the old Bach, on a visit to his son, plays for Frederick the Great in Potsdam in 1747. He also gets to know Carl Philipp Emanuel’s colleagues in the court chapel, who have long been preparing the music of a new era in Sanssouci – behind the king’s back. Revolution! Recorder player Dorothee Oberlinger, director of the Potsdam Sanssouci Music Festival, brings the king’s court chapel to life in this concert.
