The kindergarten is located in Promenade and has been run by THEPRA Landesverband Thüringen e.V., based in Bad Langensalza, Bahnhofstraße 6, since July 1, 2013.
The kindergarten was completely renovated in 2002. In 2009, a new building for children under the age of three was opened.
The current operating license covers the operation of the facility with a framework capacity of up to 184 places for children from the age of one until they start school, taking into account the best interests of the child and the educational concept. The care takes place in 2 buildings.
The number of places for children from the age of one until they start school is set at 184. If these places are not occupied by children from the age of three until they start school, they may be used for children under the age of three up to a maximum of 80 places. Of these, up to 30 places may be used for children under the age of two.
In accordance with the pedagogical concept, children may be cared for in the facility for a maximum acclimatization period of four weeks immediately before the age of one, in deviation from the specified admission age.
The daycare center is open on weekdays from Monday to Friday from 7.00 am to 4.00 pm. Exceptionally, if there is an urgent need, it may also be open from 6.00 am to 4.00 pm. The amount of the user fee is based on the number of children in the family who are simultaneously cared for in the kindergarten and in the after-school care center of the Weißensee elementary school. The order of the children is determined by the order of births in the family.
The Traumzauberbaum elementary school is located in Johannesstraße and is sponsored by the city of Weißensee.

The youth club is an open children’s and youth facility run by the city of Weißensee. At the facility, girls and boys, young women and men can spend their free time together, pursue their hobbies and interests and take part in extracurricular activities.
The Seniorentreff is an institution of the city of Weißensee. It is intended to be a place of encounter, enjoyment and a focal point of artistic, cultural and social life. Being together with other senior citizens should always be characterized by understanding, consideration and mutual respect.

The Haus Weißensee residential care home is a private care facility and offers its residents individual care and support services.
The care facility was newly built in 2013. It offers 52 care places. The 52 single rooms are comfortably furnished, although it is also possible to bring your own furniture and personalize your room. All rooms have a handicapped-accessible bathroom with shower and modern care beds. Telephone and satellite TV connections are also available. Our friendly, light-flooded common areas have cozy quiet zones and an outdoor terrace.
There are also four assisted living apartments. The apartments are 47 – 63 m² in size and all have their own terrace. The residents of the assisted living apartments are connected to the care facility’s 24-hour emergency call system. Care and service are provided on the basis of a care contract.
